new lump setup or not?

Hello,

Just replaced my engine, with a newer spec but using the orignal wiring loom, as a result the newer neutral switch only has a live wire coming from it.

As a result I now have no where for the old earth to run so I have wired it to the frame.

But now I have no neutral light . . If that all makes any sence can you advise . .

I miss the little green light . . .

regards

Not sure of the wiring differences but fitting a small relay springs to mind. Use the live wire to energise the relay coil so that it pulls in the contact and in turn earths the neutral light.

You should be able to connect the "live" wire from the loom to the switch and simply cut the ground wire. If it doesn't work, try grounding the live wire from the loom to the engine/frame with the ignition on. The green light should light up. If it doesn't it's not the switch.
