Clutch plate replacement - STM slipper - single degressive spring action I have the 003MG048 slipper clutch on my 999R. ![]() ![]() Can anyone tell me;

What is the likely lifespan of standard plates in this clutch? I’ve covered 4300 miles on these plates with 3300 of them on this clutch.
Is there a plate removal/replacement guide anywhere that I can get hold of? As the clutch has a single degressive spring action are any special tools required?
What type of replacement plates would you recommend,
What's the likely cost?
The clutch has started to slip under hard acceleration, normally in second, and I guess it’s time for an overhaul. I've dropped an e-mail to Alan at AJR so hopefully he will come back with some pointers. Thanks for any help you can offer. |
You do need a special holding tool to get the pressure plate off. they aren't cheap, but i do have one. Mail me for a chat if you like ;) The plate options, being STM 48T is really only limited to STM's own plates. I don't believe anyone elses will fit correctly. Lifespan is really dependant upon use etc. I couldn't honestly tell you you can expect XXXX miles. If they are slipping, and there's life in the friction material, then padding the pack thickness out with thicker plain plates is an option. the pack will need measuring and then selection of new plates to get it back in spec'. Again, mail me or call me for a chat, if you want. |
this is a good pic of the pack layout and the distance mesured from the pressure plate http://www.mobil-tech.de/pics/angeli...skizzerace.pdf |
