How Hard Can It Be?

To get a replacement indicator bulb for a 999? I went to Halfords and got the correct wattage bulb only to find when I take the old one out it isn't a bayonet fitting but needs to be wedged in.

Drive back into town and Halfords don't have the correct size.

No probs I thought I'll go to a Ducati dealer, so pop around to Riders. Unbelievably they don't have one. "We'll order it in".

Get a call four days later, "Your bulb has arrived". In I drive to discover it is the wrong one.

Guy bit embarrassed by now. Calls Ducati Helpline to try and ascertain exactly what bulb goes in a front indicator. Decides to try and get one out of the indicator from one of their stripped down race bikes up in Bristol.

Nine days later still not bulb.

Is it really that difficult?

Any ideas?

:saint:According to my workshop manual you need a 12V - 10w bulb,clear as mud!If i were you,i'd buy 3 or 4:saint:

Well here is the problem. The manual says 10 watt bulb. The bulb I have removed says 16W? I've looked at the other one and it's 16W too. On the back of the indicator moulding it also says W16W.

So is the manual wrong?

I am the man that knows how to solve your problem or problems, get a bike that works like 748,916,998, and you will have no problems. The 999 is still in testing and you are the test dummes!!!

:lol::lol::lol:

They will get it right but that will be when I buy one.;)

:puzzled:The manual is for a 2003 749/s,does that mean the 999 is that much more because the bulbs are more bling,not bling,bling:D
