996 wont start I guys rode back from the gp @ lemans last week 1500 miles covered in 4 days (1000 in 2 days 2 up too ) Rode in the rain in england for about 150 miles(torential) Left bike in garage all week, until i fancied a go on her today. Turned key lights fired up on dash ,petrol pump fires up,push button and NOWT not a click not anything(like a fuse is gone) Took starter button apart and wd40 in there, checked soem fuses but couldnt find relivent one!!!! Got jump leads on car(not started off course) and nowt, aint tested battery as of yetbut if batery was flat the leads would of started it i suppose? So guys this is where you lot come in :burn: WHERE SHALL I START LOOKING PLEASE. |
White plug from starter button on the rear of the solenoid - check it's plugged in correctly & if it isn't, once you've plugged it in, put a cable tie on it. If that doesn't work, then a search on "starter" or "solenoid" should reveal loads of info on the board. Andy |
If you don't knowwhere the solenoid is, it's just in front and slightly below the battery on your bike I think.... |
just what i was about to typye Rushjob .... might have got water in it and corroded ... jiggle it .. works a treat ... |
Cleaned your battery terminals up after the soak in the rain? |
