Dead Instrument Panel And the tacho is stuck at 13000revs. Found a few posts on this. Seems a common problem. Need to check the fuses on the side of the headlight mount. How do the fuse covers come off? I've pulled the individual covers but they won't budge:mad: |
Does each of the 4 fuses have an individual cover? Do I need a special tool? Is there some sort of locking tab that I have to depress before the poxy cover will release?:puzzled: |
Glenn, are you planning to ride to the TT? Sorry can't give you any help but hope you get it sorted ASAP. |

Yes each fuse has an individual cover. they are a bit stiff to remove, but no special tool needed |
Yes Martin I am riding there - touch wood! Are you going? I will give the covers a bit more force tonight Rob and see what happens. Thanks for the replies. |
No i'm not going :barfy:, will be DIY'ing & housey things at weekend - need to get the Brownie points for the CC & Snetterton weekends. Hope you get bike sorted & have a top weekend. |
I've still got a bit of time to sort the bike out because I am going on the 3rd of June. Got a wall to build this saturday! What chance have I got I can't even get a fuse cover off!!! |
My fuse covers have locating catches which stop them being pulled straight off. Got the fuse out and put it straight back in and hey presto everything is back to normal:roll: |
I got a can of Wurth Silicone spray, recommended by our local Ducati dealer (they also sell it). I occassionally go around the electrical connectors that I can see with it as it is meant to be better than WD40 for keeping moisture out. THey use it in the plug caps too, with red rubber grease liberally applied around the coil seal (to complete the story). |
1. Henry what on earth were you doing up at that hour! :o 2. Same as Henry here, bought some of the Wurth silicone spray last weekend after watching JHP smear grease all over the rubber seal on the coils and the spray the heads liberally with this stuff. |
