Are they having a laugh? |
You've not seen the STM Titanium "toast rack" clutch cover then??? Here..... [Edited on 31-5-2005 by Rushjob] |
:D I can sort of understand for racing, but surely it just bends if you hit the deck?I'm not saying i don't like it,i just can't see any value in it to a road rider:D |
If you really want a laugh, go and look at the price for the DP sprocket cover for a 998/999 |
won't mind seeing the whole bike though exhaust re-routed over the top shoch and swinging arm changed sorry for going off the point |
I'm sticking to the full metal jacket clutch cover having trashed the clutch when I chucked the bike down the track. All those carbon and minimalist wire cages are OK but they don't offer much protection to the clutch. |
I must admit that I put the original clutch cover back on for track days ... probably not save the clutch entierly, but got to be better than the vented ally thing I usually use. I saw a 749 in the dealer for repair with all the RH side scuffed. Didn't look so bad but apparently the clutch had pushed through and damaged the gearbox. They were talking about ball-park figure of £4500 damage! It was not a write off, the bike only had 125 miles on it. |
:barfy:I think i'll leave mine alone for the moment, unless anybody has a DP 749/999 Ally cover going cheap:lol: [Edited on 2-6-2005 by swannymere] |
Think they are being a bit generous describing it as a "cover". And i don't get it either!! |
