Handlebar position

Ok, is there a way of making the standard handlebars slightly adjustable. What I mean is can you get them to angle further forward than the standard position?

L3OONY 04-Jun-2005 14:05

Don't know what model you've got but it appears that mine could be angled ever so slightly forwards by releasing the two bolts on each clip-on.

Don't know whether this would foul on anything when turning the bars though?

Out of curiosity Rob, why would you want to do this?

You can push them further forward, reducing the rake, by taking them off the bike and grinding down the pin that locates them with the top yoke. Make sure they are securely fastened back on though.
Watch out for fouling problems with the reservoirs. Should be fine though.

A more exotic solution is the SpeedyMoto top yoke. As well as looking fine, it'll allow the bars to be lifted up to 20mm and also offer about 5 degrees of rake adjustment. The location for the pegs is slotted rather than just a simple indent. Not cheap tho'

Just done mine on my 748, pull the pins out with molegrips and re-fit, I find it a lot more comfortable, wrists in a more natural position.

Thanks everybody, I knew you'd know. L3OONEY - I just want to get the bars to a more comfortable position for myself. I'm used to flatter handlebar styles. Speedymoto yoke looks well trick Nelly. How much are they in English pounds?

L3OONY 05-Jun-2005 13:40

Rob, don't know whether this might help at all but M1KEYP has got some handlbar raisers/adjusters that look really smart, are comfortable and improve the feel of the bike.

Cannot remember what make they are (something CAT?) but possible an option?
