999S Starting problem.
 

Intermittently my 2005 999s recently has been having starting problems.
Turn ignition on injector’s fire up.
Press starter all a get is a clicking sound and motor does not turn.
Also I get some sparks, arching by the left hand side fairing. ?

Any ideas?

Check the battery terminals..

Mine did that (no sparks) and the battery was duff, it has "ballooned" in the holder, got replaced under warranty although no reason was found as to why this occured.

Check the 6mm nuts on the back of the starter solinoid (10mm spanner)
