Clutch spider spring failure

I believe there have been a couple of threads on this but it looks like this is the cause of my slipping clutch -

Does anyone have a spare I can borrow whilst Nelly trys to source me another new one?

How long should these things last anyway?

The clutch is as dry as a bone, presumably the Silverstone gravel and dust didn't help, and I am fully aware that the 'spiders feet' need regularly greasing.

One other point - the STM maintenance guide suggests clean, grease/overhaul every 2,000 KM, i.e. every 1,250 miles whereas I've done 4,000 miles on this clutch with 5,000 miles on the plates.

Anyone care to share their experiences/suggestions?

Dunno about how long they last, but as far as I am aware you're clutch should be stripped and regreased every 1000 or so miles, it's the bearing ramp assembly that needs this.

Someone put a post up months ago now about some Rocol grease that is super high temp designed for similar applications

Well that is something I didn't know. Is there a guide on maintaining it yourself? Can't see anyone getting a dealer to do it every 1000 miles!

Dave I would have thought Alan at AJ Racing would have been worth a call for getting hold of one, he may even have used ones around as he probably replaces them on race bikes as a precaution

i've had 2 fail on mine, the last one was about 100 miles after the slipper clutch was fitted (by dealer) cost £40 for another:mad: getting replaced this week during service.

Dealer enquired with Duk and was told there isnt a problem but they do fail on the race bikes!:saint:

Will be keeping an eye mine when i get it back.:borg:

Are they the same as the ducati race items? I've got one of those.

They probably are the same. Nelly tells me the DP one is the same.

This is it from the catalogue
