drink driving question - legal standpoint

Mate in work got caught the morning after and is due to appear in court next wed (nice and quick turnaround)
he is having trouble to find a solicitor who will take the case on and who is local.
he has resided to the fact he will be obviously getting a ban, but will having a legal representative with him make any difference to the inevitable outcome ?
i have offered to drive him to court and do what i can for him as his boss, but apart from that i reckon he's pretty goosed and it is his own fault.
cheers for any advice

unfortunately i think you pretty much summed it up in your second last line.

Yes it will... he needs representation.
At the worst, he should be able to use the duty solicitor at Court on the morning of his appearance.
I'm suprised he can't get a legal rep locally...ours have all got ECNALUBMA imprinted on their foreheads when it comes to drumming up business round here.

Are they all dyslexic lawyers down your way, i can't get that to spell overpriced shark, no matter which way you re-arrange the letters:lol::devil:

Actually i love my solicitor, he is a star, bloody expensive star though.

Try this fella, expensive but good http://www.motoroffence.co.uk/

Cheers all. I have passed this onto him and he has his day in court next wed.
Only himself to blame really but he knows he has done wrong and seems to have taken it on the chin realizing it could have been far worse if he hit someone and killed them.
I expect he will get 12 months ban as he has had a clean history up until now, but getting to work is going to be a trauma for him.
Its just not worth the risk at the end of the day

we all know it.
but im sure many have unwittingly driven the morning after while still over the limit

I beg to differ on that one!

You could always try Nick Freeman, he was even on TV last night... all depends on how much his license his worth to him and how much he's willing to spend to try and either get off or just get a few points!
