Hmmm what a weekend!

Well - Thursday evening I'm ready - Max is in caravan - tis all loaded, hooked onto car and me and the kids pile in.
I get as far as the end of the drive and touch the car brakes and nothing, foot flat to floor :o
Looks underneath car and it's leaking brake fluid all over the place - Nice start !
Rings around everyone I know to see if they have a car/van with a towbar - no joy! So I stand there and cry :sniff:
Rings Ade to tell him as he's on his way to Snet and bless, not a moments hesitation and he's on his way to me with his van :)
So unload everything, Sis arrives to take my little one for the weekend seeing as we're roughing it in tents and vans and my mum say's "it's an omen you know" I wanted to hear that didn't i ? :o
Ade arrives around 9pm and we load what we can in the van and my son's Metro is packed to the gills and off we go arriving at midnight to a closed circuit !
Early am - load everything that was slung out so we could sleep and head off to the circuit to find a suitable spot for all the DD'ers.
That done - sign on - unload and get out on the track.
Fisrt couple of sessions on the friday track day are taken up with learning the circuit and I was starting to enjoy myself but come session 3 or 4 I think, I got into a bit of trouble around Sears.
I'm thinking this is going well until i'm looking for Revets thinking why is the straight to my left and not in front of me :o This was closely followed by a very loud scraping sound (my exhaust) and another ( my bellypan ) and it feels like i'm almost facing the direction I came from :puzzled:
It all happened in very slow motion and I throttle off - nooooo I say to myself can't do that so put power back on by which time the tyre's caught again and i'm slung out the saddle - Legs all over the place I land back on my tank heavily with the front end getting a very big wiggle on and still without my feet on the pegs i'm thinking "this is gonna hurt" :o
Couple of seconds later and i'm nailing it up the straight thinking - no one saw me no one saw me - Phew !
By the end of the straight I go straight on instead of the left into the Esses cos the throttles stuck again and after a couple of minutes to compose myself I head back to the paddock.

I'm starting to think My mum was right at this point :puzzled:

The next few sessions see me wrestling with laptimes 20-30 seconds off what I was doing in my first sessions and I was deeply disappointed that despite further efforts on what was a very very hot day I could do nothing about it and was taking Sears thereafter like someone who should have been on a Zimmer frame :sniff:

The race itself was yet another good one and by all accounts fast and close up front so well done to those of you out there racing proper like - bad luck to those who crashed and I hope you are not all that stiff today. I on the other hand ache from head to toe for some reason I haven't fathomed yet!

On the plus side - was a fantastic weekend, meeting friends old and new, having a laugh and 'racing' my bike plus i've maintained my record for finishing and despite the above Max and I came home almost scratch free!

Hooooooooooooge thanks to Ade for without him I couldn't have made the weekend at all .
:D
To Slob for all the polishing and the obvious enjoyment you get from being there and to Graeme for his duties performed admirably as usual.
And thanks too to all fellow competitors and supporters of the series for making it what it is.

Special note to a friend of mine Dave - the envelope was a nice surprise and very appreciated :)

Sounds like you had your fair share of drama Lin! Excellent to see you still made it out despite all that and your 'moment' at Sears. A special envelope eh? No-one gave me a special envelope :(

Hope you got your signature sorted as well?
