Oh Dear! UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! Went to Wincanton bike meet this evening. Started up to go home and found that all the displays on the dash have disappeared. Nothing except the backlighting when the lights are turned on. No neutral light, no petrol light, speedo, rev counter the lot. Please someone tell me it's just a fuse and nothing serious!! Please. So now I have no left hand indicator as I've been waiting for a bulb for 8 weeks. No rear light cover as I've been waiting for 2 weeks and now this. If it is a fuse I wonder how long I'll have to wait for that. [Edited on 1-7-2005 by ttstu] |

Sounds like the clocks are duff ... My first 999s had the same problem, The dealer changed the clocks under warrenty. Good luck. |

Sorry to hear of your problems. What's special about the indicator bulbs, can't you fit a standard bulb from the high street? |
It's a wedge bulb and I've been to two Halfords branches and no joy. Bike is just out of warranty, so looks like it's going to cost me to sort out the clocks then.:o |
As previously posted-Halfords do sell the bulbs-12v 16w exterior/interior ref number 955 |
mine did the same thing, it turned out to be a loose fuse take them out and replace them, worked for me ;) |
I removed the 4 fuses and hey presto the bike goes through it's normal diagnostic sequences. It was the last fuse at the back 3 amp I think that did the trick. Trouble is the bike won't start now. I've put her on charge just in case but can't imagine that is the problem as it's always started before. When it goes through it's checks the amber EOBD light goes out and the top half of the red triangle at the top gives one flash. I press the starter button and it makes a tiny attempt to turn the engine and then there is a faint clicking noise. Sounds like it is coming from the dash area but can't be sure. Any ideas??? |
Sunds just like a problem I had with mine not starting, just take the battery off and give it a good charge overnight. Do you use an Optimate? I was advised that although they help keep the voltage up they don't really give the battery a good charge. Murray Mint |
