genesis I noted that someone had a link to a genesis tribute band on here a few wqeks ago but have lost it please could let me have it ...thanks me thinks the dates for the u.k. have passed but there were moving onto Canada..? thanks again;) |
Ooooo who's going to admit to this one! |
It was Dunks....link to a thread of his Here and you'll find the link in his signature. BTW JPM, there are two versions of Genesis...there's the trio fronted by the dreadful Phil Collins who came out with utter "follow you if you'll follow me" drivel that went straight onto the Radio 2 playlists. This version of the band deserves all the revulsion that anyone can muster. The earlier incarnation of the band fronted by Peter Gabriel with Steve Hackett playing guitar were totally different. Dark, edgy and with a macabre sense of humour their musicianship and theatrical stage show stacked up very well against Pink Floyd and other bands of that era. Of course they're dated old dinosoars now but they still provoke a nostalgic smile for people of a cerain age (hey, dated old dinosoars like me) |
Jools, in some ways I take that as a compliment, as you must think I'm a wee whipper snapper, although I did know that Peter Gabriel fronted the band before Phil Collins, although I must admit to possibly never hearing anything from the first incarnation of the band |
Ah.............. Foxtrot, Lamb lies down............... Coffin dogers unit. |

Coffin dodger :puzzled: Hope I've got another 25-30 years before I start dodging coffins chap Or are you so young that you think 50 is geriatric? P'raps it is, but just think..when I get into the old folks home there won't be any Gerts or Dorises...I'll only have to wait a few years and all the old dears will be called Britney or Kylie [Edited on 22-7-2005 by Jools] |
It may be that you are thinking of this lot. Not so much a tribute band, more a musical re-enactment... |
Jools, No offence intended, I am mid fourties myself, grey as a badger, but grew up listending to T-Rex, Slade, Deep Purple, King Crimson, The Who, PFM, Thin Lizzy, All that punk stuff from 1970's, Bob Harris, Radio Caroline and, of course, Genesis. Not much wrong with Kylie though Rgds, Rob Quote:
