748\'s with 45mm cans Does anyone out there have any experience ??? I've just read some Very Good Stuff on the moto-one site which makes me want some smaller cans and crossover pipes to improve the around 5-6k range. Answers on a first-class postcard before the first-up 45mm-item ends in about 2 days please  |
Phil as I mentioned in my other post regarding PC's, the 748 runs better on 45mm termis, this info i got from Duane at moto one (you have the link). He has spent much time on the dyno and road testing the dukes, and is one of the Aus top boys on the dukes. I spoke to him at length regarding fuel mapping and injection some months ago, and he has a great deal to offer. I suggest that try the 45 mils and set up a power commander to fine tune the setup. plenty of second hand termis around. You will find it increasingly difficult to buy new ones as ducati no longer make them. I had a small problem with one of mine losing the baffle material, and burning the carbon, but luckily not all the way through. A mate of mine stripped and rebuilt them for me, including new stainless steel internals for 100 quid. I spoke to Nige, a mate of mine at Ducati uk, who offered me the part numbers of the Ti replacement sleeves. I didnt want those as they aint the same as the carbon boys. let me know how you get on mate |
FYI Gents, I have a set of 45mm Termi carbon cans for sale, approx 2.5k miles only on my 998 (went to 1/2 sys 50mm). All VGC - keep meanig to Ebay them, but no Paypal account - slacker! U2U me if interested and we can sort out a price to suite. Spinoli |
I have 45 mm carbon termi's on my 2002 748S. I did not install a power commander and I feel it runs smoothly and without any noticeable flat spots. Probably worth a dyno run however, if you have the time/can find one. Sounds awesome too. Ade. |
