Millenium Bridge closed

The Millenium bridge walkway, right next to my Bank, is closed and the south side cordonned off.

2 police are on it with sniffer dogs as I speak. I know this is going to be a more regualr occurance but watching this out of my office window is a bit close for comfort.

Sorry to share this with you all but i guess it is now life in the City as we know it.

kp:(

To think I came into the office (near Liverpool St) today thinking it's not a Thursday, I'll be cool ...

I've got to be here again tomorrow as well!

Working from home is a beautiful thing. :(

All clear now. Police opened it up.

Working outside of London is a beautiful thing mate! and this just unfortunately just adds to that

Indeed so - I am getting to the age where quality of life actually means something. Just can't afford it now - I need to balance that somehow and when I do I am outta here.

Anyone want to start up a Ducati related somethng in Kent?

:)

I agree - I just can't afford the drop in my daily rate! Especially seeing as the company I'm working for now pays a little bit more than they need to and I'm very comfortable with them. The company that you work for wanted to pay around 2/3rds of what I'm on now for a very similar role.

We are planning a move to Kent next year, and maybe even earlier depending on a few things here and there. I'll still have to come into London regularly though.

Quality of life mate, that's the key.

And cost of living is cheaper the further North you get (apparently) so it's a bit swings and roundabouts I guess.

Saying that if a job turned up in the smoke for silly money I might be tempted, who knows...

Yeah I know, we're trying to find a balance with the whole quality of life thing versus my earning capacity being a lot higher in London than most places.

If quality of life was the main driver I'd probably move back to Australia to a house on some land in the Gold Coast hinterland and buy a few surfboards.

Actually .... why am I not doing that?
