Fuelling question for 748

Hi all,

My bike is currently wearing 45mm open Termis and a hi-flow air filter (can't remember the make offhand). I have spoken to On Yer Bike who inform me that the ECU should be OK with the standard chip.

Out on a ride today and my mate following thinks my bike smells like it is running a bit rich.

Now I thought that if anything, with open pipes and the air filter it would run lean. Am I right? Am I going mad? Where am I?

Cheers

Hog

Bike is a 2001 748s BTW

Have your dealer hook up your bike to their Mathesis diagnostic tool. Excessive hydrocarbon emissions can result from any number of things, from a needed TPS adjustment and butterfly sync to EMS sensor problems.

Two things to always bear in mind. the main one is that whatever eprom you have fitted, if it's setup badly it'll run like a pig.
The stock eprom may be fairly OK, but i'd swap it.
get a JHP one from Ducati Coventry. Quote the bike year and the setup and they'll send you a suitable chip.
They aren't plug'n'play though. It'll need setting up to get the best from it.
