i like the fact that it's well controlled (i hope)

Hi,

first off, best to check out the current rules for DD

http://217.199.188.40/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=13180

If wanting to obtain the best results you can, I'd say go for a 620 engine as they are putting out about 62 - 64 hp std.

C:)

Welcome hawk. Hope you enjoy the club :)

While you're at the virtual bar I'll have a large latte.

Now, plenty of race experience .... national level ... hrmmm, what you need is a nice 583cc monster, preferably something around a 94 model with about 100,000 miles on the clock with the big end about to go and just leave it standard, you'll be fine ;) :D

Give us a chance mate!!!

IMO the best bike for the series would be a 620 monster with a 6 speed box and twin disks. Then you can do what you want with it from there (clip-ons, bodywork etc ...).

Hope that helps.

thanks tp
latte on it's way when i pop and say hi at brands

like the thought of a monster as its very much like my hawk

TP 05-Aug-2005 12:38

Nice one.

Don't forget .. 100,000 miles ... 94 model .... 583cc .... ;)

domski 05-Aug-2005 12:43

Welcome to the board, mines a Red Bull please :D

You'll notice in the rules that...

"2006

For the 2006 series, entrants will have to have been members of the
Club as at 1 March 2005, novice licence holders or not have raced for
at least 5 years."

...dunno how that will affect you?

TP's right though, you need to find the oldest, roughest pile of nails you can get your hands on ;)

AK 05-Aug-2005 12:59

and:

"Discretion may be shown by the committee towards entrants who do not meet all of these criteria, but who are entering in the spirit of the series.

These rules will not apply to guest riders who will not socre points"

can sell you a 583 engine:saint: or 2:D

domski 05-Aug-2005 13:21

Oh right, I never saw that bit

What a numpty.

In that case, whats the point in the rule :puzzled:

hawk 05-Aug-2005 20:54

right then
old bag of shite it is then!!!!!
does anyone make catch trays for side of engine casses for when crank and rods finally fly out:lol:

domski 05-Aug-2005 21:36

It's almost unbelievable, but with the exception of a couple of 'smokers'... not one single engine has expired yet!!

How amazing is that!?!?!?

...and they get so hot, that even an hour after a race, you still can't touch the engine casing due to the extreme heat.

:o
