HELP HELP Can anyone please tell me how to adjust the rear hub on a 1995 748sp Im trying to adjust the chain and unlike the bp it has no adjustment like the C spanner that you find on the bp |
Undo the 2 locking bolts at the top rear of the swingarm and you should then be able to rotate the castleated adjuster clockwise (if you dont have the proper c spanner a GENTLE tap with a suitably shaped piece of hardwood should move the adjuster.dont know the torque for tightening the lockbolts but should be in owners manual. thanks for reply but the sp dosent have an adjuster to put a C spanner on it. Where the Castleated adjuster is on the bp models the 748sp is smooth. |
I thought they all had the same adjuster?? Sorry mate, completely no use what so ever...taking the wheel and carrier off may help, see if you can get anything inside to move it? |
on my bip i undo the two bolts on the back of the swingarm and use a c spanner to tighten chain, i sure it wouldnt be any different on yours as standard as ducati dont like to change things across the range do they unlike ford escorts and such like |
Sounds right to me, I just checked my Haynes Manual and it does cover the 748SP and it suggests as above, two bolts on the back of the swingarm and C spanner. |
Also have Haynes.. No luck.... my mates 996bp has the castleated C spanner adjuster but the 748sp dosent. I think the only people that can help me are sp owners as it seems to be a race spec hub.... |
No ,ive got a pukka corse hub on the mag swingarm on the 890 and that has a castleated adjuster Butch |
post a piccie mate. |
I think you may have an aftermarket replacement on there. It should be the same as any other 748 - 998. Metmachex do a hub on there single sided concersions that uses a dowel through the sprocket that goes into the hub. Once in place, you rotate the wheel to turn the hub?? Have a look in the face of the hub for a hole that could be used?? |
