Quickie about radiator size?

Looking to replace the rad on my S4R for a smaller one and in an old issue of Bike, it seems that the ST3 rad is smaller. If there are any S4/S4R/996/748 owners out there with an ST3 (or other ST's) , could you just have a quick look and see if the rad is 'less wide' than the other bikes mentioned?

Thanks

simon

hi i have got an ST4, its not easy to measure exactly with the fairing in place but using a tape its about 10" wide (250 mm) and 3-1/2" high (90 mm) high.

Really? It looked smaller on the pics I've seen but that's much smaller than I'd have thought. The S4/S4R is 350mm wide (excluding the header tanks) and 190/200mm high. The width would be perfect but the height suggests almost seems too small - did you mean 190 (as opposed to 90mm?) or is some of it covered up by the fairing? Or is there an additiona smaller rad somewhere else on the bike?

Confused but looks like this may be an option?

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure that's not the oil cooler?

The radiator is the upper one and I'm sure that it's more like 150mm deep. I'm at work and my bike is at home today so I can't just nip out and measure it

Just measured my ST4S rad 330mm wide by 190 deep.

Whoops sorry no wonder your confused it must have been the oil cooler, it certinly look like a radiator. I measured the bigger radiator, which is higher up the bike, it is also not easy to measure but is close to 350 x 195

Thanks for all the help guys (and gals). 330 wide and 190 high. Is this including the header tanks? If so then this may be an alternative route to replace the standard S4 /S4R rad with this rad? The S4 / S4R rad is 420 wide and if the ST4 was 330 wide, I presume it would (with minimum mods) bolt straight on?

Now all I have to do is find one on ebay or get in touch with some breakers yards. Any numbers or recommended places?

Best regards

simon
