Pay pal... Just had an email which to all intents and purposes, looks like it has come from paypal, telling me that during a routine security operation, they noticed that there has been some unusual activity in my account,i used it yesterday and it looks fine to me.Their telling me to click on a link and sign in to sort it out or my account will be suspended....scam?? |
i delete any such e-mails ,and contact paypay by phone ( uk phone no on their site) if there is anything to be dealt with. They are really helpfull. Allways had good dealings with them. |
This is definitely a scam - I had one a while ago never use the link on such emails as they direct you to a fake site. Sometimes if you hover your cusor over the link you will see the site you are being directed to by the link (it appears at the bottom left of your screen) and you will see it is not a genuine site. The major banks are also being targeted by such emails. Just delete these emails Daryl |
I delete any email that look like they have come from Paypal |
Mogwai this is how scammers operate, they send u a Link masked as paypal but its actually a Link to theyre site which then logs your details as you try to login to what you think is paypal, then they have your details, DELETE IT ! /ian |
As I said previously on "ALAN E's" thread "I guess this is a scam on PayPal" - quote: "Alan (and anyone else) If ever you get a strange email that "appears" to be from PayPal just forward it to: spoof@paypal.com And then the "real" PayPal will reply by email to you telling you if it's genuine or a fraud. Don't be a victim of internet scams." So don't just delete the email - take action to help stop this criminal activity by first alerting Paypal to the content of the email you have just received. They'll then hunt the buggers down, and you'll be helping everyone else. |
