head angle ... For road use , does changing to the steeper head angle make any difference ? ( quicker steering , i hope , but is that a good thing for every day , or not?) And if it is worth doing , is it easy to do, or best left to the pros? Thanks |
not worth doing in my opinion. if you look on any race ducati's you wont see it done. ok because they have a longer swing arm. if you want quicker steering best off raising the ride height |
No real harm in doing it, you may not notice too much difference on the road though (unless you're a road speed freak!!!;) ) and you will lose the steering lock. What are you trying to gain by doing it? If its for quicker steering, you could try jacking the back up a touch - it does create a similar effect on the steering and can be easily tweaked (more variance) or put back to original rather than moving the steering head. Thanks, I have jacked up the back end ... just wondering if there was a trick I was missing ! I thought it might have more relavence on the track |
