It's bad enough that Police Officers get little respect from Joe Public on their way home from the nightclub at 2 or 3 in the morning but Specials having to put up with that sort of attitude from "regular" officers is disgraceful. Specials take a supporting role, and in areas where there there aren't enough "Regulars" (Ha! Half of them are off sick with stress!) often get asked by shift Sergeants to cover full patrols on foot. Those Special Constables hold down "normal" jobs and then get down to the nick to work extra hours in uniform, then have to listen to "regular" officers cry into their coffee all night about how poorly paid they are (£25k+) when the Specials are doing it for nowt and their day jobs often pay less than £20k! I was a Special, I left because I got peed off with that kind of attitude behind the closed doors of the local Nick, to see it publicly displayed here is disgusting. Is it any woinder "Joe Public" is losing, sorry, LOST, respect for coppers? :flame: |
