Exhaust finish :saint: I'm not trying to be a ponce, but the pipe from the rear cylinder to the silencer is letting the side down,by having a rough and rusty finish. What do you recommend?I was also wondering about if it's possible to have the silencer finished in a black coating, any ideas? |
Black chrome!!!!! |
Get a fibre brush bench grinder attachment out of the screwfix catalog,it leaves a loverly dull/titanium finish. |
:puzzled: Do i then have to do anything to stop it rusting?:puzzled: [Edited on 19-8-2005 by swannymere] |
Ducati exhausts are stainless:puzzled: not very good stainless, but stainless non the less,so a dull finish should last a while, but polishing will last longer:D |
Don't get it wet? |

Once you have got the pipes polished, keep them that way by treating them with Wonder Wheels alloy wheel cleaner once every week or two. Brush it on, leave it for a few minutes then hose it off. It will remove the brown discolouration and turn the pipes silvery again. Several applications have removed most of the brown gunk from the as yet unpolished pipes on my ST4s. |
