Clip on risers. Anyone had them on their bike?
 

Although I'm a man, being blessed (or cursed) with the delicate wrists of woman I've just bought a set of risers on eBay. According to the auction info they're Ducati Performance items, the master cyl bracket is included and they raise the bars by about an inch.

Has anybody ever fitted these type of risers to their bike, and if so, what can I expect in terms of clearance/fouling issues and increased comfort and/or decreased mirror visibility issues?

Fitted the cyclecat bars to my 916, made a massive difference for my spain trip. (sadly they didnt manage to stop it breaking down)
no worries with clearance, only thing i would say it can get a bit tight on full lock and your thumbs in the tank.
On the upside - as you have to rotate your throttle grip 180 degrees, it means if adjusted correctly that you can use the choke button as a cruize controll - mine would sit at 75 - 80 mph once pressed

Had the DP raisers fitted to my 998bp & did not like them at all , sold them on this site , i found the best thing to do is to rotate the clutch/brake levers round which means your wrist's are not bent when operating them
This makes a huge difference ,so much now that my backside is usually the first to give in :o
Doing this will mean you have to either remove/file down the pins thaT locate the clip ons in position ,but as long as you mark the std position it easy to put back to std

btw: i've put renthal soft grips on and that's made a hell of a difference to comfort

just been outside to have a closer look at my bike re: the clearance issues etc and it seems that if they do raise the bars by 1" then:

a) the top of my fingers will be awfully close to the edge of the screen when on lock (don't know how far away when not on lock 'cos i didn't want to move the bars and set the alarm off!)

b) the throttle switch gubbins will need to be shifted to avoid fouling the screen

c) my hands or forearms will be in the way of the mirrors

mmmmm......am i correct?

The top of your hand will be close to the fairing on full lock, this only matters in car parks but its not that bad and you know the limits of the lock it is not a problem.

The throttle unit is rotated through 180 degrees and is not a problem.

What mirrors:lol::lol:

I have the wrists and fingers of a man who has crashed too many dirt bikes into trees, dry stone walls etc (7 fractures :() and could not get on with standard bars on 996, Helibars work wonders for me and transform the bike and can even tour on it as well.

I find the mirrors are usable now I have c.cat bars fitted
