ohh noooo!!! my chains snapped!!!

well i cant believe it, just been for a quick blast on my 748s 2001 and gone to change gear (at about 100ish) and its snapped the chain, i feel lucky that i coasted to a stand still and that it didnt have me off as well, fortunatly only 2 miles from home(i needed to loose a few pounds anyway), but i need some ideas on how to sort the damage,
ripped carbon hugger off,not a problem it had one of those holes in it anyway!!!
deep scrapes on frame, can they be repaired and sprayed???
oh my god.... its ripped a big hole in my 50m carbon termi,can these be resleeved or can you just buy one of them???
and of course new chain and sprockets, i will see nelly for those!!!
answers on a postcard please,lol
:puzzled::puzzled:
thanks

Tough break fella - looking on th ebright side it could have been worse!!!

The frame can be repaired and painted (as long as its only paint damage), chain/sprockets can be replaced, and termis can be resleeved.

Good luck and I hope you get it sorted before the decent weather goes away.

What's going on with everyones chain snapping??

Is it more common on a twin or something?

its funny you should say that 748iom, been to see nelly today to get it all sorted out and get the feeling its not uncommon!!! this was a DID chain that was fitted by main dealer 10k ago, i have maintained it properly and the was no warning, i checked it days ago and it was fine!!!! hhhhmmm what chain will i have next, i have always thought if it was fitted standard it was good ****!!! time to rethink that one!!!

There have been a few(?) occasions of DID chains snapping. I've not used it for over two years now.
I only use Tsubaki now, and not a single problem.

I'll show one when you come over next week Martin. You'll see what I mean ;)
