Side Stand Length Since I've raised the rear ride height on the 749 I've noticed it leans over further on the side stand, naturally. It's generally ok, however, I'm away to rally this weekend and noticed that once the bike is loaded with gear it really is on a serious lean angle and I doubt it would hold the bike up in a gust of wind. Is anyone else having the same problem? [Edited on 1-9-2005 by sbwells] |
My 999 is pretty jacked up but haven't really noticed any further lean, but I'm used to pretty big lean angles with the 998 |

Yeah mine's ok without the gear on but by **** does it lean over now when loaded up |
I guess it would all that extra weight high up and leant over... |

Yeah, I had lowered the front as per the section8superbike sit and didn't have a problem. Now that I've put the front end back to standard with the raised rear the bike is really leaning over. Cyclecat do extended sidestands for the 748/9** series but I can't find anything for the 749/999 |
Can I ask why you reverted back to the standard front end? Simply because of the weight etc and the chance of grounding out the sump etc |

I changed from Pilot Sport to Pilot Power tyres and something didn't feel quite right at the front end with the Section8superbike setup. So I changed everything back to standard other than the rear ride height and everything now feels good. Someone else on the board has done exactly the same thing as me. I can't remember who it was, but it was in a setup thread started by you. Fortunately I don't have to worry about the sump ground out on the 749S as it doen't have the deep sump. |
