2002 750SS wont start??? Had my 750SS for two weeks now and went to start it and wont kick over. The fuel pump primes the bike when the key is turned on, but lights, horn, or start cut out the electrics to the bike. then it comes back to life again, fuel pump primes, etc. push started it, ran for 15 seconds then stalled, push started again, same. think that the fuel pump not running so runs out of fuel. does this sound like a simple flat battery??? anybody else think that it may be a problem larger than this? |
Flat battery can be checked with a volt meter across the terminals. If you got the bike from a dealer, I think they should be sorting this problem out for you. I first thought it might have been the starter relay at fault but re-reading your text I'm not so sure now. Perhaps start by checking the battery connections and then working along cables for poor earths, bad connections and any cables that might have rubbed through and and are going to earth (head stock and under fuel tank are good pointers). I'm sure someone more electrically minded will be along shortly!!! Good luck - Frank |
