WSB - BSB - AMA

With a lot of Superbike racing having happened recently, I find it interesting how different series have very different bikes on the podiums.

For WSB it's been Suzuki and more recently Honda and Yamaha with Ducati having the spoils now and then. So this class seems now fairly competitive. The guys capable of winning race count 6 or so. In BSB, unless you're on a Honda or an Airwaves Ducati, you'll struggle to be consistently in the hunt. In AMA, unless you're on a Suzuki forget it. They got all six podiums in last weekend's round.

Does this simply mean that it's the team (with its riders) that are the determining factor on what makes a competitive package?

Any comments?

Its the factory support I reckon!!

The way I see it, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
So if one of the main factors - rider/bike/team - is somewhat lacking, then that's the deciding factor.
Put me on a GP grid with a Repsol 'onda and I'd come last, because I'm crap. Put rossi on my DD bike on a GP grid and (maybe!) he'd come last.

I'd suggest it's coincidence if there's different bikes dominating different series.
