748R Power commander maps

Has any one got any experience with using PC3's on a 748R. Ive got the downloaded files for the R but the one that is closest to mine,

Ducati 748R European model
Stock Ducati eprom 076
Termignoni 50 open half system
Stock or aftermarket air filter

which is loaded, still isnt quite right, my bike has a ducati performance eprom!

WHen coming into slow 2nd gear corners, and its tipping in getting back on the throttle is a pain, it stutters and hesitates for a split second, which totally off puts in corners!

Its much smoother on and off the throttle, and pulls better higher in the revs.

Any body had this experience or has a map to hand?

Cheers

The only way you'll get a perfect map is to have one done for your bike and your bike alone, no downloadable map is perfect, but is a good base setting.

Get some dyno time and a guy who knows what he's doing

None of the downloadable maps, or very few, are for eproms other than standard ones.
Put the stock eprom back in and try it.

Ultimately a dyno session is the best course, as JPM says.

Your other problem is the 50mm exhaust system.
If you are racing, and want the extra bit of top end that it gives, fine.
If you are road riding or 'normal' track-ing then you'll be better off with a 45mm system.

I know cos
1) I have a 748SPS which has longer-duration cams than the R, and with a 50mm system I was thinking of getting rid of it, (and I've not had it a year yet) cos the hole in the power delivery around 5-6000 was pathetic.
2) My mate has a 748R, and he has no 5-6000 hole in the power delivery.
3) I've tried 3 different proms with and without 3 different PC maps, and none really made much difference.
4) I fitted a 45mm system - put the 'correct' 76 prom in - and what a transformation !

I'll even bother to go and get it dyno-set up now, cos it has so much more potential ;)

The prob with advice from the power-junkies (sorry nelly :D ) is that they accept no compromise

I'm going to try a few pc maps again before I let anyone else near it tho ;)
