I had a speed triple for a few years and went out for a test ride on a Daytona 595, the salesman I was following was on a secondhand (but expensive) 748R. When we stopped to turn round and ride back I'd already decided to buy the 595. I asked to ride the 748 back, well, by the time we were back at the triumph dealership I'd changed my mind. "Nah - I'll wait 'til I can afford a Ducati"

There really is no comparison.

Welcome Duc Daz. ;)

I remember when I got my first Duc, an 851, still got it and hope I'll never have to sell it. I spent as much time sitting on a stool (with a bier in my hand of course) looking at it as I did riding it. When I was riding it..well, I don't need to tell the converted:smug:

Have fun. They get into your blood:devil:

Welcome duc daz!
After my first Ducati (a 748SP),I decided to go for something a little newer.Although I was really happy with my SP,I just wanted to try what,at the time, was the latest in the way of Japanese fours (a '98 R1).
Although I couldn't deny it was a quick bike,I found it TOTALLY souless and with ZERO character. So,within a few months,I was back on a Ducati (748 SPS this time).Immediately,I knew I'd made the right choice to return to the Italian way....
Although ownership of a GSXR750 (that was bought for trackdays) also featured, nothing has ever tempted me back to Jap fours.Sure they are quick, but isn't there more to it than that?
Enjoy your new bike :bouncy:
