Paddock Stand

Being new to owning a 916, and coming from a ST2 which has a centre stand, I thought I would get a paddock stand.
Should the bike lean over to the right so much.
It seems stable enough and I have got the stand in the back wheel spindle as far as I can, but it does not give me much confidence, about as much as the side stand does.
Normal I guess, but worrying.:(

Well, I can only speak for the type of stand in the attached piccie, but I have had a couple of these and never had an issue with it leaning over at all. The stand is rock solid. I could sit on the bike and jump up and down if I wanted to!

What make of stand have you got?

My paddock stand has a "shoulder" on the stub-shaft, so the first 1 1/2" of shaft is about 3/4" in diameter. The rest is 1" diameter. The shaft needs to pushed fully home so that the 1" diameter section is fully engaged.

Hope this is clear.

My stand looks just a stable as yours Harv, I must be doing something wrong, but what I do not know.
My Paddock stand has a screw devise on the left hand side which appears to spread the end of the shaft that goes in the wheel spindle.
I will go back and have another look.

That's the normal stand yes, good but not great, you need one with a bearing in the spindle and also one with a bit more leverage as it's easier to get the bike on and off the stand

Cheap stands are a bit iffy...for peace of mind I would go for a Harris one..top notch kit and VERY stable..!!
