very common problem, surpised it hasnt been sorted out by the previous owner. needs to be set up properly by a dealer who knows what to do. has it got termi's fitted?

DoughBoy 16-Sep-2005 18:51

No The bike is STD

Well Bought a hugger last week.
Sorting the Clutch cover this weeked, but would like to sort the cutting out first.
What does the dealer have to do ???

probably find the air/fuel mix needs looking at. cam timings can make a difference too. maybe get it sorted when it goes in for a service. you can always use your fast idle to up the revs a bit. i do that on mine anyway just to about 2k

They suffer from a fuelling problem at low revs and usually sorted at first service. Some dealers are known to be better with it than others though, so don't take any BS about it being OK if you think it's not. I had some dodgy moments with it stalling at junctions, pulling out onto roundabouts etc. Once it got set up properly though it was fine then and has been for the 2 years I've owned it.
