Safety recall No 627 Well i received a letter yesterday from Duc UK, noting that i was the owner of said Ducati, and advising me of the oil cooler recall. I thought this was prominent 12 months ago? as i checked mine then and i had the correct sort of cooler, ie not the one that cracks! So, any one else get a letter, why has it taken them this long to get to me, is this to do with the recent failures Haslam had on his bike? |
Do you honestly beleive Haslam runs the same cooler :puzzled: |
No i dont. But there is a thing called PR! :P Although considering the failures, they must be made at the same place! |
Yep,I got one too,....for the 999 I sold 6 months ago.I guess their records are not up to date. |
Im sure there are two types of cooler and it was one in particular that broke? |
Yep,the faulty ones were made by KTM,summat to do with the oil pipe unions being pressed in and not welded. KTM later rectified the fault. Other oil coolers were made by Toyo. |
Wonder why theyve written now, surely the campaign 12 months ago cured it? Wonder if theres a problem with the toyo ones? |
I had another recall on are peugeot 307 this week they are worried about fire risk yet again:lol: p.s they can let the 999/749 burn as they might look beter :D:D |
Dunno,...dont think so. I'm guessing that some dealers/owners never bothered to fill out the form the first time.I remember taking my bike up to Italia for the check.Took about 30secs as you could clearly read "TOYO" through the vent in the fairing vee peice."Anything to sign?" "Nope." That was that. |
