I don't think anyone will mind me posting this, but I think it's one of the best ideas yet...

"The overall winner of the Desmo Due trophy will be the rider who scores the most points regardless of class."

So a 583 rider could win the overall title.

that weould be like a privateer in bsb being able to win the overall championship!
I think it devalues the series.

I'm not racing but it does sound like doms got a good Idea.

It will also mean that no matter how big your budget is you have a chance of winning the title

How can you beat someone that you dont race against.

I think the overall champion should be the 620 class champion, the 583 class will have its own champion who then if they wanted could move up to the 620 class to try to become overall Desmo Due champion.

I can see the 583 class having more interest for the DSC members and the 620 class having more interest from Ducati especially in the form of dealers interest (DLS for example), although hopefully the interest from all parties will cross over both classes to some extent

It based on points.

So if the 620 champion ends the year on 300 points, and a 583 champion ends on 320 points, then the 583 champion is the OVERALL winner of the trophy.

Both are champions, but only one gets the main trophy.

It will be equally hard to win each championship, so why only give the 620 riders the chance to win the 'title'.

Everyone has something to race for.

It's not my idea, it's in the proposed/draft rules. I just think it's a top idea.

I'll second that one. If you've got 5 guys of the same level battling for the title in one class and 2 in the other one, the 2 guys will have a lot more of chances to be your overall winner.

And what I don't understand is why we need an overall DD champion????? We've got 2 classes, we'll have 2 champions. Period.

Fantasy DD was a lot better I think :D

So it means the same riders will race in both classes???? Don't you want to think again about what you wrote Dom? :lol:
