Quick shifters Ok Im toying with the idea of fitting a Dyno quick shifter for my 999. Is there any one that is using one on here? Have you had any problems with it? Did it make a big diffrence? And before we get on to it, yes i can use the clutch, but fancy something diffrent and a little more bling. Where is the cheapest place to get one, if i do decide to go ahead in the UK. It's to hook up to a power commander 3 USB. |
I had a Techtronics one on my 966R - fabulous bit of kit - especially on trackdays, the ability to just keep the throttle pinned and just snick through the 'box is a delight. Mine was a bit of a bugga to get right, and I'd recommend getting someone who knows what they're doing to set it up, but once set up, you'll wonder why yuo hadn't fitted one earlier. Tim |

I have a JHP Ducati one fitted to my old Senna by the infamous Nelly. When I first tested it I had to look carefully to check she had changed gear it is so smooth, a staedy increase in mph and slight drop in revs were the only real clues. One of the best mods I ever made for trackwork, particularly Nurburg where some corners are so long in places you need to change up mid corner and trying to get a handfull of clutch or simply rolling off to chage up can be quite interesting, good if you like wrestling crocodiles, bad if you want a smooth exit on full power. It is of little use on the road unless you just want to blast down a straight road and change gear easily, and remember to switch it off when not needed. It can be a little embarrasing 'po-going' down the road as your left foot hits and misses the gear selector just enough to break ignition but not enough to change gear. I would highly reccomend one if you do much trackwork, but would say no for road use, my '2 pennoth' worth. Cheers |
Just got back from my 150 mile favourate route ,first real chance to try out the jhp techtronic quickshifter. What a fabulous bit of kit, keep it pinned and a quick prod on the lever, superb. I would echo 2 points already made,1 have it fitted by someone who knows what there doing (like if you move the lever you have to reset the system) and 2 not so good on the road at anything other than full bore. Go for it Butch |
Sound like these are not used on the road much. I would be using it on the road but i still like the idea. |
I wouldnt say dont use it on the road, its just at lower engine speeds the change is not that smooth. Great fun when you'r pushing on! Butch |
I think i will try on and see if i like it. |
Has anyone fitted the power comander quickshifter and what it's like to fit. Pics if you have them.999 fitting |
