Missed you! (noise alert!) Missed yooooo;):P Thanks to AGE996 for kicking off our hols with a good rideout to Bude (5 Ducati's dear, you cant count!:P ) We spent the next 10 days or so (till money ran out!:( ) hooning & pottering about, over hill & dale, round twisties & along awesome straights. Only met one (very nice;) ) copper, who wanted to know where he could get a zaust like Alan had on the tri-colour!!!:o:lol: After going along the A39 most summers, we still find it full of suprises - tractors:alien: .... new tarmac:cool: mud  more new tarmac....:D Have decided that her majesty is the best thing on wheels:cool: - except for the very very narrow 1 in 3 hills, with gravel & 90 degree bends all combined - think I'd have been better off on the M620 - but not long to wait, till she is back into road trim anyway, as my winter hack:saint: Only missed 2 days - one due to hangover - the other due to lots of wet stuff, but 'bimbled' out in the van instead:smug: Definately a 'must do' for anyone with a couple or more days to spare. 'Hi' to the 748'er we met in Boscastle last Sat - hope you didnt get too wet heading to Newquay - we headed off in the 'dry' direction:devil: Quick road assessment: A39 from Clovelly to Bude:D:cool: White road to Welcombe mouth:o:(:o Brendon hills:roll: Lynton/Lynmouth:o:o Exford:o (white horse pub = :D ) Road from Torrington to Stibb:cool: Widemouth Bay:cool: Bradworthy:ninja: (roads are good for losing ones hubby:lol::lol: ) Best pub meal: New Inn, Kilkhampton:pig: Worst drink: The Smithy, Welcombe (London prices, grubby pub:mad: ) C:saint::D |

It was good to see you both and to meet ITEX:cool: Ok so there were 5 Dukes at the carriers pub in Bude and I did russtle up about 20 southwest bikers:cool: When you went to lynmouth did you go on to poorlock ? as it has a great 1 in 8/9 hill good for wheelies :lol: So is it same time next year ? If it is I will make sure i am away :lol::lol: No just joking your welcome down here any time CK. Age P.s So are the rest of you and I am sure we could show you some good roads :cool: |
Welcome back CK/AK, been a bit quiet on here of late, not that it's got anything to do with your absence Charlotte:lol: |
I thought it had been quiet on here :P ;) |
Quiet? .. thought I'd gone deaf :o Oh, welcome back Charlotte ;) |
so you two gonna head north for some sunshine and good roads next year then ;) Always welcome to pop up and stop over to sample some great roads and scenery :) |
Up north???? With all them foreigners? Some people are crazy!!:lol::lol: |
Lily, thanks for the lovely offer, will firm up dates after xmas!:D:D Tho due to planning on taking 2 bikes on the DD circuit next year, we might just have to settle for an overnighter instead of longer... I was hoping to show AK the delights of the Lakes next year, as I used to be up there quite often in the 80's & early 90's & some roads have still stuck in my mind, and am in contact with old 'horsey' mates still for accom:) AGE - Porlock was more scarey on the bike, than when I used to drive 8 leggers across there:o Dom Henners & Dementor - shurrit!:P C xx |
