Thats got the old memory ticking especially as i was at the 1980 Silverstone GP when they did a bit of shooting for the film

The bike he was pulling wheelies on was a Suzuki SP400 from what I recall of the film

[anorak mode on]It was the '79 GP,...I was there! The bike was ridden in the film by Roger Marshall, but David Essex did sneak a go on it,much to the insurers horror.Cant remember much about the bike, but there is a chapter on it in Rogers book.I'll see if I can dig it out later.[/anorak mode off]

Bloody awfull film tho!:sniff:

Yep Keith I stand corrected, it was 79 GP, with Silverstone only 30 Miles up the road we use to go to most of the GP's back then, especially as there were more GP race classes to watch. And as you say David Essex sneaked out onto track with it.
Suprised I remember much about those GPs at all considering the parties we had on the campsite on the Saturday evenings after doing the bear run down to Brackley.. I think it was 79 when 7 of us fell off a RD350B in front of the Stowe grandstand to everyones ammusement.
Those were the days :D

Barton engineering built the bike iirc , they also used to build a 3 cylinder racer based on the GT750 Suzuki and for what its worth the film was dire :D
