bar rise question

quick question to you all , my last bike was an mv f4 . and after some months my old (broken a few times ) wrists started to voice there complaint ! now if youve ever riden an mv youll know that they trap your thumbs on full lock any way so a bar rise was needed . as with dukes companies sell these (at a price ) . however i found a bloke in the states who told me how to rise em for free !!! take em off turn em round and swap em over , the clipons that is ! this was easy on the mv cos everythings hinged ,no need to remove forks etc . to the point has any one done this on a 999 . it was spot on ont mv , and no i dont want a monster !!

I seem to remember it is possible on 748/996/998 bikes, not sure about 749/999.
Most folks seem to be going for higher bars like CycleCat.

After removing my bars to fit my Cycle Cat risers I noticed that there are pinned dowels inseted in the respective bars, these would have to be removed to enable the switches/levers to fit.
Interesting to find out if this would work.

Just looked at the original bars that I removed and if you turn them upside down and swap sides they do point upwards but at a silly angle whereas the bar riser kit lifts the bars but they are still sloping downwards.
