Shock in or out I've finaly got the front set up for sag etc but can't get to the rear preload with the C spanner. I dont want to use a drift in case I knacker the castled spring nuts. How's it done guys. Do I need to take the shock off and if so how many turns? thanks G |
Had the same problem on my SS. It's either take it out, adjust it, put it back, try it, take it out.............. or the old hammer and screwdriver job! Or get one of those nice preload adjusters put on the shock. |
Never seen one. Where do you find the ajusters for sale. Thanks |
JHP sell them, about 140 quid or so, not cheap, but you can adjust the preload by 10mm with a socket etc rather than your knuckles |
Ouch !!! |
I managed to adjust mine with a c-spanner whilst it was still on the bike. It is very awkward to do, but can be done. Your knuckles won't thank you though! |
I have two different types of c-spanner which I use alternately on each twist. It's awkward as hell, but better than taking the shock out, IMHO. Learn to love scraped knuckles. |
i adjusted mine with 2 drifts and 2 hammers. me and a mate in sterio to stop the whole lot spinning and lock it up when correct |
