Why no number boards on Moto GP bikes?
 

Really stoopid question really but while I was pondering what colour scheme to do my track bike in, I noticed that the Moto GP bikes just have numbers applied directly onto the fairings wheras World Superbikes (and most others as far as I know) all have numberboards. Why is that?
