Vermeulen signs for Suzuki MGP

Read it here

Looks like an interesting 2006 in MotoGP then, wonder if Hoffman will get a ride now? let alone Checa, Biaggi etc etc

Totto 27-Oct-2005 13:45

If was Hoper i would be worried :o

Ian Harris 27-Oct-2005 14:24

I'm glad he's got his Moto GP ride, I think he's got what it takes to be successfull, although it might be tough initially on the Suzuki

electricsheep 27-Oct-2005 14:47

i wonder who they will put on the camel honda foir the last round ?

Martin Ducati Glasgow 27-Oct-2005 19:22

Not sure, but I think CV's contract doesn't start to next year and he's still officially a Honda rider so he'll still be on the Camel!!:puzzled:

electricsheep 27-Oct-2005 19:28

no the article in the link says he's not on the honda for the last round as it would be a conflict of interest

GsxrAge 27-Oct-2005 19:31

I think it's exactly the right decision he's made. I'd rather be on the Suzuki in MotoGP than on the Foggy Petronas in WSBK (like Jonesy).

Anyway, read Moody's lastest silly season report here. It's an interesting read if follow this kind of stuff.

Suzuki will have two very promising young riders in their team. Will they be able to develop the bike, though.

I think it was Sito Pons who was impressed by Vermin's ability to interpret what the bike was doing and what the engineers were saying. I'm pretty sure I remember Gerrit Ten Kate saying the same thing. I wouldn't be suprised if Chris ended up being quite a handy development rider as well.

I think his signing with Suzuki could end up being a very smart move. Especially now that Paul Denning appears to have improved the communications between the team and the factory. Hopkins was certainly impressed with the changes he has brought to the team.

I wonder if Chris had a chat to Colin Edwards about Honda asking him to stay in WSB for another year ;)

One certainly gets that impression.
