Parking Tickets I think this may have been discussed here somewhere before...... I have just been hit with a £100 (£50 if I pay up fast) parking ticket. This was for parking in a Restricted Stret During Prescribed Hours. Basically a Residents Parking area without a residents parking permit. The bike was at the and of a parking bay, in a corner almost and certainly not preventing any car from parking in the bay. I've never been bothered by such tickets in the past. Is it worth enquiring/fighting this? Or should I just stump up. There was no nearby bike parking bay to use, and I thought it was better than being on the footpath. Wandsworth Council if anyone has experience with them. Any thoughts appreciated. |

Do you have a permit ??? If not you'll need to pay up .. bikes are not excempt from Permit Holder restrictions .. sorry .. |
Don't have any experience of Wandsworth, but those nice chaps (;)) in LB of Richmond upon Thames let you park in residents bays as long as you don't prevent others from using the bay for parking a car. (I wonder how long it'll be before the money grabbing so-and-so's work out that other boroughs are charging for two wheeled vehicles and follow suit ??). Ho hum. I must admit it does frustrate me that there is no consistency across the boroughs in London - don't mention Westminster where you can't do anything without getting stung for it (that includes breathing !!) ;) |
