Twin headlight conversion? Sometime ago I remember seeing a pic of an ss with a twin headlight conversion (can't remember if it was a 600/750/900). Anyone have any info on this kit? Was it a ducati item? Is it something that is still available? Any ideas or info? Cheers, Dave.:puzzled: |
powerbronze do them http://www.powerbronze.co.uk/home.html (go to the drop down menu under select and you'll find headlight conversions) ive put the conversion on my 600 ss' cos i prefered the look -- the paint finish isnt up too much, the lamps take a bit of time to align correctly, and the lighting advantage is negligible but adequate on roads that i know- i picked mine up secondhand from a DSC member-- the connections just fit straight into existing multiplugs from the original headlight unit- so no cutting and splicing hope this helps dave [Edited on 5-11-2005 by monstermob 998] |

This one? Mine is a french enduro fairing made to order, but I have seen some at Lincoln Andy :) |
Sparkin is showing a twin headlight SS on his log in.That came from Chris Clarke who are no more.Sparkin suggested Veloce mcycles on 01508 571070 and ask for Jonathon lake. Andy like the front of your SS,good photo to.Do you have trouble grinding your left handfairing and stand as well. |

Frank, You are a mine of information. Only trouble is, my German is limited - make that non-existent. There seem to be some good German sites with bits for the ss's at reasonable prices. I have never bought anything from e-bay outside the UK. If I decide to go for this conversion, any advice re. payment? All the best, Dave. :bouncy: |
Hi Dave - just another bored evening passing the time browsing in Germany ;) No real advise that you wouldnt use for Ebay normally. Try and check feedback ratings. See if price is actually fair (against new / other suppliers). Make sure postage charges are not excessive. My transactions with Germany have been smoother than in the UK really. I just run the ad through - Babelfish. Ensure they are willing to post to the UK and pay by Paypal (makes things a little easier). Sometimes I've been copped for import VAT but usually not. If its a private seller, one nice trick is to ask them to write on the item details for the parcel "Replacement part under warrenty" - then no additional import charges are incurred (in my experience anyways). Good luck - Frank |
You should not be hit with vat for purchases in Germany as normally you would have paid German sales tax. You can (if you are unlucky) be hit with VAT (and collection charge) only if you purchase from a non EEC state. |
