Web Publishing Program for beginners Can any of you IT specialists point me in the right direction. I'm after an easy to use web publisher so I can create my own website. Any suggestions :puzzled: |
How good are you with Word? How expansive is your planned website? Will it be static or dynamic? |

For a freebie, try searching for evrsoft. Not the most stable of applications but its a freebie and gives you insight into the coding. |
Notepad always works best for me  |
If it is simple static information, just create it in Word and save it as HTML. You then upload the page (.htm) file and associated folder (if you have pictures) to your web server. |

I think it's a little to complicated for me. I'm just after a personal website at the moment as I've never tried it before and I've had an address for about 2 years now. Thanks anyway |
I would say, in this instance, Word is probably your friend then. |
Word is not your friend....word is bloated...word is baaaaaaddddd. Notepad is your friend. Good boy notepad. evrsoft goes some way to drag and drop similarity of Allaire Home or dreamweaver. Jesting aside, Word has the templates for your homepages but it does add loads of bloat for tables etcetera and not enough for images |
I would never normally recommend Microsoft! But in this instance it makes sense if he can already use it and doesn't want to learn HTML/PHP/Javascript/whatever. You could download Open Office, that has an HTML feature built in. And it is free! |
