Rear Shocks ? If we have any budget left from the 600 build we would like to get a rear shock for it. Anyone know of a good quality ohlins, WP etc one that is available ? ta |
Ohlins from anyone like Sigma, Cornerspeed or Pro-Twins. I wouldn't bother with WP - Ohlins support in race paddocks is excellent and Sarah Jordan's hubby (Steve) is a dab hand at rebuilding them at a good price and quickly. He's a top bloke as well. |
aye up !!!!!! one thing i've learn't with springs is that its best to stick with the type's youv'e used and been happy with before!!!!! never got on with over the counter bling ohlins!!!! tried a top notch custom penske and struggled for good base setting!!!!! wp are my faves but tried a nitron at cadwell and that proved to be one of the nicest shocks i've got on with ( once i took some sag out of spring due to domski's big old burger belly:lol::lol:) go with what your experiance tells ya !!!! if not buy a nitron for usability and solid performance my 2nd choice would be wp |
WP are great if your running bsb etc, try to get some work done if your a mere clubby. The phone rings and no one answers......Eventually you may get an answer but sods law will dictate that you will not get Vic. I have an Ohlins on mine and its puuurrrfect, If the bike had not come with it it would have been mister maxton for me, Ron despite his reputation has always got time for the club guys. But as hawk said if you have got used to a certain manufacturer stick with it, Its an in your head thing. Glyn #13 |
I have a Hagon shock on my 600SS, it came off a 750SSie so is 5mm longer than the standard 600SS shock at 335mm giving a bit more ground clearance, slightly steeper rake and hence less trail for a bit quicker steering. Worked well for me all season. I will probably sell on the standard 900SSie shock that I have sitting as a spare. Again its longer than the standard 600SS shock at 335mm and is in excellent condition. |
