I\'m just so weak.....Spaghetti headers !!! Its a DANGEROUS thing searching Ebay for normal things like clutch covers. I spotted this Spaghetti system on Ebay.de recently - I'd been watching a thread on another good Duke website (http://www.ducati.ms) where owners were clubbing together to bulk buy systems from a manufacturer. The header system on my 900ss always looked bad even when I first bought it - then, when I found out about the deflector plate in the diamond section, I decided that one day I would have a full bore spaghetti system (but my credit card has just melted) :(:(:( The seller is the distributor for Sil-motor parts in Germany so seems reputable - they appear to have one more system left (at least). LOL - my wife has just banned me from ever having a holiday in Germany! Cant think why, just when my technical German language is coming alone nicely ;) Dank - Freivermerk. |
Ooooooo...... Trouble is £380 odd is money that could go most of the way towards a set of Keihins or pay for decent headwork or getting the suspension sorted or a set of Hi-Comps or... All stuff that'd make more difference than a spaghetti system (unless your OEM ones dig in then turf you off at Sear at Snetterton "Look at me ma, I can fly....."). Darren |
Point taken Darren, however I think I'm pretty sorted on the suspension front. My 944cc kit I think is a useful addition over standard (although, I've still never ridden a std 900ss to compare) and I couldnt see the point of any more engine work unless the gasses were going to be able to get out pronto :) + my old headers looked awful as well. Of course - once the headers are fitted it means a trip to a nice Dyno shop - could be interesting !!! Cheers - Frank |
Frank, talk to Chris Bushell, he fitted a 'nest of vipers' set up to his old 900ss and had before and after dyno runs as I recall. You'll need more than a new exhaust to keep up with the twinspark mate. John |
Hmmm, you've got me thinking about our '94 900SS. It's got a BORA zorst conversion and freeflow airfilter, but it goes flat at about 8 1/2 - 9,000 like it's trying to suck more juice rather than running out of cam. I'd have thought there would be a bit more in it. Opinions please blokes. Oh, I've not had the carbs apart so don't know what jets are in there, but Baines did the conversion so you'd expect the jetting to be right. Ains. |
1 Attachment(s) I'd of thought Carbs and especially in the long inlet manifolds were the "weak-links" in a system with a Bora conversion - but you might need a dyno run to confirm it. John, this was just a follow up thread to a users request for info. Heres' how mine turned out - apart from the sodding paint falling off: |
Looks good Frank-the paint ALWAYS falls off-best to satin polish them or spray them with Sperex. John |
