All Ducati's are made Red then they are road tested and the slow ones get a top coat of Yellow

not sure but it could be the primer.

and now you've opened yourself up for all the jokes:lol:

underneath every yellow bike there's a red one trying to escape:devil:

I'm sure all of them are painted red initially then repainted yellow when required..

If it's a 748, it's not a new bike, so have you had it from new or did you get it secondhand?

It's not impossible that if it's secondhand someone has bought a red replacement panel off eBay or something and had it sprayed up.

As far as I knew most Ducati undercoat is white

Paul748bp 18-Nov-2005 17:06

the rear seat under where it rubs on bits is mat red and on the side panels its second hand bike and states yellow on the dealers book im sure it will be stamped on the vim plate
ill look when i get in

ps

yellow is the true colour for 748's plus red is bland:frog:

the plastic is moulded in red. yes

Paul748bp 18-Nov-2005 17:28

pheeeeeeeeeeeeeew

bloody cheap skate ducati's

keefer 18-Nov-2005 17:34

that's not to say it may of been sprayed at some point though.
normally takes quite a bit of rubbing to reveal it. like a crash
see below

In all seriousness I think you'll find its normal, I had a yellow 748R from new, not sure how but it got a small scratch near the side stand and you could see red peaking through.
I blamed the colour for it being slow but now I have a slow red one so it must be the common denominator, me
