Re-springing a shock Is this cheap and easy just to re-sping a shock? Can anyone do this on the cheap for me (there's a few beers in it as well), If not where can I get it done? Oh it's a Showa unit. Cheers |
i take it we are talking about a rear shock, is it ohlins or showa & do you have a new spring I can do it for you if you send it over, been waiting on chance to return you a favour!! be pleased to help |
Buy new spring , take shock out , loosen two collars on top of spring take spring off ,then put new spring back on ,tighten collars ,put back on bike then set sag accordingly Done it a few times with no probs , spray a bit of lube on the collars before you start ;) |
It's a showa rear unit, don't have a spring yet not sure what to get (model and colour). I just might be taking you up on that. Cheers Sean. :saint: |
i hink ive got a couple of new ohlins springs around il check out the rateing and let you know, if there any good to you send it over and its yours  |
I just bought a 916 and the rear shock spring is chipped and looks nasty, the shock works well but I need to change the spring and then maybe invest in a shock protector. What do new springs cost and where do you get them..? |

You truely are a :saint: cheers mate |
You can get new springs from Demon Tweeks at a reasonable price. I get minr through my mate at Raceparts uk, but they have to get it in especially as they noprmally stock matched pairs for the car racers. Another mate then powder coats it what ever colour I want. |
