You soon have an empty wallet Daz or a big cc bill.:) |
you got any pics |
was in the middle of fitting mine yesterday, when I found that some kind soul at the garage where it was serviced had managed to destroy the head on one of the 6 bolts which hold the pressure plate, so it wont come out. Planning to use a dremel to cut the springs and the collar, slip the spring and collar out. Then use a pair of vice grips to get the bolt out. If anyone has a better plan, please let me know. Want to get my bling on pronto. |
Drill the head of the bolt out with a 5mm drill. Once the cap is off and the spring tension relieved, you'll more than likely undo the bolt thread with your fingers. |

did think about that, am a bit concerned about wrecking the thread though |
I've done it several times with no damage at all. You'll make a bigger mess with the dremel IMO. The threaded portion of the bolt will remain 2 or 3mm proud of the spring post. As the head of the bolt gets drilled out, the spring pressure will finish the job off for you. Take your time and it'll be fine. You'll save the cap and spring to. |

I'll ditto all that, Nelly did it on my bike and I was astonished when he finished the job of with his fingers.........:sing: |

Hi So if I understand correctly, the drill takes enough of the head off to allow the plate and spring to slide pas and be removed easily, leaving about 3mm off the bolt to be loosed by say a set of vice grips. Am interested in the rear sprockets you have for the 749, 525 chain, not sure which version though. If you can let me know which one I will get the cash over to you. Thanks for your help.
