It means:

Has fell off once, RH fairing needs to be changed, vertical cylinder needs to be changed, sold with 2 sets of tyres, chipset (?????), KN, 2 Remus exhausts + standard exhausts, track fairings.

I think the bike is near Toulouse :D

Vertical cylinder needs to be changed?!

Tonio600 29-Nov-2005 15:48

ok maybe that's not the good word. You've got 2 of them on all modern Ducatis (except the D16 which has 4 of them), and you put a piston in it. What's the name for that?

So the vertical one has to be changed on that bike... don't ask why :D

ChrisBushell 29-Nov-2005 15:56

It is called "new piston required on rear cylinder". One might assume that the bike has suffered a partial siezure when he crashed it.

Please remember that a pair of barrels and pistons is £900 or so!

You were correct Antoine ;)

Sometimes it is called a 'Barrell' too, but it is a cylinder really.

TP was just shocked that the bike needed the cylinder to be replaced - coz it's expensive (as Chris pointed out)

BARRELL :)
Cheers for the word Dom... I didn't understand TP's reaction... Not easy when you have to wonder if people don't understand things you're saying or the way you're saying them... :(
